It’s Black Friday!

It’s here! Yes today is officially Black Friday! Since 1932, this day (the day following thanksgiving) has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the U.S. However, in recent years, we in good old Blighty have adopted this American tradition, as well as many other countries around the world and well, let’s just say it’s going to be a bit mad in town today!!

It’s known as the busiest shopping day of the year and right now there’ll be fights ensuing in stores all over the country as people battle to get the best bargains that stores have to offer! With Christmas quickly approaching, this is a great opportunity to get those big presents for a much cheaper price!

The Telegraph states that “Shoppers are predicted to go on a £1.97 billion spending spree today – setting a new record – and retailers are braced for an online and in-store onslaught as they offer up deals in the battle for Christmas spenders who are facing the threat of steep price hikes in the New Year in the wake of the pound’s post-referendum slump.”

If you want to avoid the busy high street or you’re stuck at work today, then there’s always the online option! Most people today will be taking the option of sitting on their comfy sofas in the calmness of their own homes to get the best deals or will use their lunch breaks to get the deals they might otherwise miss out on! However, if you fancy getting out and about, many shops will be extending their opening hours to deal with the added number of customers that’ll be visiting them today!

If you fail to get some bargains today, don’t despair! Many shops are continuing their deals over the weekend, and some for longer, for example Argos have a 13-day sale! If you are going in for it today, I wish you the best of luck!
