In conjunction with Face TV Merit will offer students the opportunity to create exciting video content that engages with Basingstoke community. Face TV will be involved in a new Freeview TV channel serving the Basingstoke and Andover areas, to be launched in 2017. ‘That’s Hampshire’ is one of about 50 new TV channels launching in key towns and cities, and will be transmitted on channel 8 on Freeview, a hugely prominent position on the UK’s main TV platform. The licence for That’s Hampshire was won in June 2014 by That’s Media. Face is That’s Media’s partner in the channel, having co-written the winning bid for the licence. Part of the reason Face TV and That’s Media won the licence was a commitment to giving local students access to their state of the art facilities and hugely talented staff that act as mentors for structured projects. This summer our work experience students will create film that engages the Basingstoke area, raises Merit’s profile and gives the students content they can proudly show off in their portfolios.
Merit will undoubtedly benefit from the hard work and creativity of the QMC students and **SO COULD YOU!**
